I will also echo that I don't think that age should be very relevant nowadays.
Part of the problem is that so many young people have spoilt their situation by being non serious and not taking the employer's best interests when making decisions.
Since most people making employment decisions will be older anyway, I would think that being older would be a positive advantage.
