Restoration man - thanks for your follow up. Another reason I shall keep my ancient open flued floor stander . No smells, no CO ( have a alarm ) and a pilot light giving me free gas

Aparently I could save £200 a year according to a well known gas supplier. (40k btu boiler) Total gas/electric s/o is £80 a month at the moment.
