GB News has won in the High Court against Ofcom—the first time Ofcom has lost a judicial review of a broadcasting code decision.
This attempt to silence GB News shows free speech is under attack, but thank the Court for defending The People’s Channel.

Wh
This attempt to silence GB News shows free speech is under attack,
Who tried to silence GB News?
What were their goals?
Who is saying free speech is under attack?

If it is about this: The watchdog launched an investigation by last February as to whether GB News violated the Broadcasting Code, which prevents politicians from reading the news because of their implicit partiality.

Then it is nothing to do with free speech. It is the opposite, it is trying to prevent political propaganda pretending to be free speech.
It's really important to understand the difference.

Apparently the channel which pushes the propaganda of wealthy entitled Reform party leaders……is the people’s channel.

Ofcom spokesperson: “We accept the Court's guidance on this important aspect of due impartiality in broadcast news and the clarity set out in its Judgment."

Guidance? they lost and will have to pay costs. They will also have to review other rulings due to the nature of the judicial review.

So, no appeal by the sounds of it.

The summary is:

News cannot be current affairs and current affairs programs cannot present the news. Politicians must not present the news.
Mrs Justice Collins Rice said the regulator’s decisions were “vitiated by error of law” and that Ofcom “conflated a news programme and a current affairs programme”.

It’s sad how people are taken in by GBnews and the Redorm party.

Its my go to on Sundays, If I am up early and driving, when R4 is full of religious nonsense.

No real thoughts on it, I find it interesting and informative although they do often get the weather wrong
Interesting and informative in what way?
I dip my toe in sometimes and they always seem to be harping on about migrants. Endlessly. maybe i just click on when it's 'migrant hour' or something...BBCnews weather is still the best, though Des Colman on ITV weather for the East Mids. is never dull.

In a way that I find their topics interesting, it is a news chanel that I like to listen to
