We have upvc frames and double glazed windows throughout. I noticed that son's bedroom always colder than rest even when radiators on. There seems to a distinct draft emanating from area where sealant is. It look ok but guess it's telling me it needs to be restored? Just odd that looks no worse than other bedrooms where no such problem.

Thanks

Run round the sealant with a lighted match, and see where the draughts coming from. Have a look outside the window, and see if the sealant is still go, as this is the part that goes first. Some times you get what feels like a draught from the difference between the warm air coming up from the rad, and the cold window. Is your sons bedroom a north facing wall, as these are always colder than the others.

Thanks. Yes probably no coincidence that his bedroom only one facing north!

Will check with match but difficult to do outside as above the conservatory.

Cheers

It's called convection and can feel like a draught as air moves up and down a window
