Not sure if the problem is with the TV or the remote, my wife lost her SkyQ remote, so since I am not using SkyQ in my bedroom, I swapped the units, easier than reprogramming my SkyQ remote control, and when she finds hers, easy to swap back, however she could not turn the TV off last night, the SkyQ box turned off, but not the TV.

Tried the TV remote, all buttons but the on/off seem to work, after hunting found can set so it turns off after 15 minutes if no signal, which is better than nothing, but can't seem to get TV to turn off with the SkyQ box, downstairs TV is the same, but only 2 minutes before that one turns off, so not worried.

Any clues as to how to get the on/off button to work?

Sorted, set volume control to work using
If you have a Sky Q remote or Sky Q Accessibility remote:-

  1. Press Home on your remote
  2. Select Settings, then Setup, followed by Remote Control
  3. Select the remote you're using
  4. Select Control your TV then Find it for me and follow the on-screen instructions
and once that was done, the SkyQ remote turns off the TV

Very good, that's too much like hard work for my wife. She will stand at the entrance to the bedroom, next to the light switch, and still say hey google turn on Linda's bedroom light. Google Nest Mini went faulty one day, needed rebooting, she could not turn the power off and on again, she could not find the unit, I had to go down to flat and turn off sockets at front of house and back on again.

But she has just brought me a cup of coffee, so can't really complain.

You can get replacement sky Q remotes from ebay but you need to know the version number. I use the tv remote to turn off my Samsung and sky goes off with it.
