Currently running armoured cable to my shed, all dug to depth of 600mm, with sifted soil, electrical warning tape etc! Only plan to run a tumble and light.

I am now at the house end near the electric meter. 2 foot above this on the inside is where my consumer unit is. I plan to run my cable up into the meter box, into the cavity and through to the consumer unit.

Is the above allowed, if not what way shall I do this to comply before getting an electrician in to finish off the job.

Thanks

Dave

Do you mean you want to run your cable through the outside meter box (or kiosk)?

You should avoid this if possible, the meter box should only be for the suppliers equipment mainly.

Are you, by any chance, hoping that this electrician will sign an EIC for design, construction, and testing, and to tell the council that he did all of the work and that it complied with the Building Regulations?
