Getting married .... !

Moz, seeing as it's yours and your wifes day could you not have a non-alcoholic bar?

I went to a wedding once where only non-alcoholic stuff was served and it was a brilliant day.

Tbh, I think a lot of people were relieved that it was no booze as most had to drive home and they didn't feel 'obliged' to booze or buy others expensive alchoholic drinks.

Just a thought.....

Congrats by the way :D

If I hear one more word about "americanism" from folks who are not americans and therefore do not know what on earth they are speaking about, I think I might scream.
Moz, Congrats on your renewing your vows..it is a deeply personal decision and in my opinion is a sign that it just reestablishes\reconfirms the foundation that the marriage was built on in the first place. To marry someone who you can depend on and trust and sustaining it and the renewing it is moving. I don't believe it's just a girlie thing and certainly not an "american" thing.
Some things just were not meant to be debated and there are some (there always is) who just wont ever 'get it'.

I can't relate to the drinkink/sobriety ordeal...but i have you and your wife in my thoughts and wish you both continued success. Cheers ;)

Moz, it does beg the question which all experienced diy'ers should know.If it 'aint broke then why fix it. I think you should really go on a honeymoon because the old Chinese Chappy said that a man is not best remembered by his words alone but for his deeds.
My Mum and Dad never ever got on with each other and made our home life hell. I now, wonder, what they would have said at their renewal of vows ceremony!!!!.

It ain't broke so break it. I'll book us in for one of Ken Livingstones new ceremonies. Always fancied Bahamas in Autumn.

:)

Sometimes a little incentive works well and I do wish you all the best.
I think that you must be one of the lucky ones who got there. My parents never mentioned their wedding to me and never had an anniversary and since my partner and I have not been married for 27 years we haven't had one either!. Although we did have a shed erecting ceremony the other day which was quite emotional because it probably will be our last of 3.

what 3 sheds , what are doing to them ?..lol

Erecting sheds is our fetish secret which nobody knows about and probably marks turning points in our relationship which also is quite loving, fortunately.
Our first one was on the banks of the Chelmer Canal, the second one is in my garden and the third and most recent one is in my partners garden. They are large as sheds go (15sqm+)and I am just in the process of loading 1 and 3 on readersheds at the moment. When I have got the addresses I'll post them to you.

so really they are like having caravans for agrophophics....

dont want to travel go sit in the shed an look out at the garden ....erm an garden ... :) :) :)

look forward to the link ;)
