Glass Ballusrade what thickness

Hello, i'm thinking of putting along a glass balustrade along the top of the staircase.

for building regs what thickness 10mm 12mm 15mm? do they recommend, and is the technical term 'toughened glass'

The supplier specifies it not the other way round and yes it'll be toughened glass. Probably 10mm.
