A hob should be positioned in the centre of the worktop, and this one is positioned too close to the glass. The owner would need to show you that it is heat resistant glass, and the installation parameters. Odd how the crack appears to be low down at the rear right hand side - can you remember which burner that was - just by one of the burners. Furthermore, there are no fixings in glass, therefore it's been siliconed in, and that means that it's not sitting back against the wall. Screwing a cooker socket into it, is therefore pretty stupid.
I have to support my argue by formal report or letter.

Write the report, post it here, and then we can comment on it for you. The landlord has to do the same thing, and can't just accuse you of damage for anything and everything. He has to justify how you've damaged it, so do you have any close up pictures that might show there are no actual hit marks.

I am not glass expert to write a formal report.
I can write some paragraphs with my view of this issue. But I need to support my words with some formal report from glass expert.
I am sure there is no burn or hit sign as well as no damage sign in the glass.
If you go to the first picture (in the first link posted here), you can zoom in to get close view.
Also, it is clearly that the cracks started from the socket corns, which mean impossible to have this kind of cracks if the glass has been damaged by user.

I don't think you need a glass expert. We've given you enough comments on her to support a good argument. Just state that you dodn't cause the damage, there are no marks to show that you hit it, and in support, tell them that the hobs been placed too close to the glass, it's been siliconed in as there are no visible fixings, and the cooker socket has probably been screwed too tight with no support behind it, and the heat from the hob has caused the glass to crack. Then ask them to show you evidence that it's heat resistant glass, and that they followed the correct installation instructions.
Then point out that the cooker socket may well be in breach of the regulations in that it has been fitted less than 300mm from the hob.

NO you don't you need to put your side and the reasoning behind why it wasn't you and the LL has to put his case and the DPS will decide.
I have received a request from the DPS to provide evidence as well as the agent should provide evidence.
This is QUOTED from the DPS email ‘’We recommend you provide as much evidence as possible to support your reasons for rejecting your landlord/letting agent's request to make a deduction from your deposit’’.
as neither of you have any it will be down to the DPS to make a judgement of probability based on the evidence you both put forward. Your most compelling evidence should be that it is a fault in either the cutting of the glass or the installation as it has emminated from the socket cut-out.

I have called the DPS and I asked them if they received an evidence from the agent. They said yes the agent sent their evidence.
The agent provided copy from the agreement, the final-report check-out, the inventory and three pictures of the glass cracks.
The surprised is the agent didn’t say how I could case the cracks. Also, they didn’t explain any things. They didn’t include any invoice about the glass replacement charge.
I have send all the evidence I have got from glass experts as well as some information about glass cracks.

Splashbacks should be made of toughened glass they don't crack but shatter.Incorrect glass used, probably to save money.
