Your certainly planning to make a change I am certain you'll never regret, I have a number of customers that are very pleased with theirs.
I don't know about McDonald but Gledhill RE stores come with solar coil as standard, also 2 22mm indirect connections and 4 28mm direct but they can add as many as you require.

The water flow rate is certainly good enough for 1 bathroom and 1 en-suite any more than that I would recommend the plate heat exchanger.

Yes Carlisle is only 18 miles away

Many Thanks for supportive comments from John67 and Goldspoon, sounds like the Gledhill Torrent RE is a tried and tested system, when connecting multiple heat sources, I presume that they are available from most plumbers merchants , will check out prices at PTS next week
