I am currently decorating my daughter‘s bedroom. I bought a lovely colour for the walls but decided I would give it one coat of white emulsion before I went on with the colour. I grabbed the large tin of what I thought was emulsion put it on the walls and 3/4 of the way through I have realised it is gloss I feel an absolute fool. I know I should’ve realised but I didn’t before anyone tells me how stupid I am please can you give me advice on what I need to do next? Do I need to wait for it to dry and go over with one coat of emulsion? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Waterbased gloss?
If it is give it 4 days and sand with 180 grade. Only a light sand.
Acrylic primer undercoat or any waterbased undercoat will do.
Let's that dry for a day then emulsion.

Think we all have made mistakes in the past with paint. Just put it down to experience. Won't be your last mistake in life either. Ha
