Largest increase in production .... Indonesia mined 2 tonnes in 1992 .... 167 tonnes in 2005
From 0.104 m³ to 8.644 m³ in 13 years... 40.55% increase compound p/a.
2 tonnes = 64,301 troy ozs........... US$ 45,010,700
167 tonnes = 5,369,171 troy ozs... US$ 3,758,419,700

A fair old pile of dosh at a spot price of US$700 / oz.

World wide production is currently approx 2,500 tonnes p/a
A value of US$ 56.3 billion.

30 million working in Britain ... so the total mined Gold value is about £21.23 per person per week or about 10 pints .... I bet GBrown unlimited is making more than that !!

according to a discovery production called funnily enough "Gold" the uk was owed a vast sum of gold by the USA after the second world war, the USA basically reneged on the deal and said tough and the UK just accepted it otherwise they would have been on level par in wealth to the US
