Typed in my address and using the zoom looked right into my living room and then suddenly the street was withdrawn because of a complaint. How sick is that?

I really cant understand the objections to privacy here? If a person objects so much about privacy how come they havnt draped a giant tarpaulin over their house to stop anyone who happens to be walking down the street to be able to see the house

Its not the house, its the knocking shop that you just came out from.
I had a look at the area where I live, nice sunny day the place looks nice, & there I was thinking of moving.
I think its just another case of people with nothing better to do than complain about nothing. There is nothing stopping me walking down any street in the country and taking a picture of the houses so why is it problem when someone does it and puts it on the internet? You can't see through the windows as well as you could if you were stood there as the picture is taken from the middle of the road and from what i've seen, all faces and car reg plates are blurred out. This really is not an invasion of privacy, its just people who've run out of other things to complain about.
I'm quite disappointed that my street isn't on there yet!

Depends how good the camera is.
I think you are missing the point, its more a case of the whole world can now see you, where as the chances of you, AndrewSchofiled walking down the road where say Joe blogs lives are fairly remote.
On the radio last week a lady phoned in to say that their road shows a picture of her gran in the window her gran has since kicked the bucket. So she thought it was nice to see her gran, but i bet the bloke coming out of the adult shop was not happy

For some reason I can't get it to work?
I have tried London, Manchester, Cambridge, Oxford etc& cannot see any street views at all?
What am I doing wrong?
OR is this whole thing for the google mapping application rather than a browser google map search?

Mattylad - no its in the browser version. Up in the top left where the zoom bar and the navigation controls are you should see a little man. If he's orange, then somewhere on the area you've got displayed, street view is available, if he's grey then they haven't done that area. If he's orange, click and hold on him and drag the man onto the map, any streets which are included will be highlighted in blue. Let go of your guy on one of these streets and the street view should load.
If that doesn't work then maybe you need to download a new version of flash player or something?

Just looked up my club and guess what? Two of the staff are standing at the door having a puff and it will means curtains for them if someone else spots it and reports it.
