hello, i have a gravity hot water pumped heating system i was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the zone valve does there is only one!at the moment we have no hot water but the heating works fine could it be down to this the valve never seems to motor across even when i turn the clock on or off.the boiler is a baxi wmrs or solo pf not 100% sure on that, Thanks

It should be a two-port valve, which simply opens and closes, but in the open position it will operate a microswitch that results in power to the pump and the boiler.
If you have two two-port valves, then the motor might have failed on the valve that's on the hot water primary circuit. If the valve has a lever that you can push across, you might find that you get hot water again. You can latch it in this position while you continue fault-finding and, if necessary, arrange to replace the valve.
