Morning all,

I’ve just moved into a house and in the bathroom there’s a towel rail - the tops on each side are proper manky with green corrosion.

Is there any way to remove this or are they too far gone at this point?

Thanks!

It's the brass of the blank/vent that's corroding (green) (whatever caustic cleaner you've been using) and the chrome is off and the rad is rusting too.

Use a green dish scourer and some soapy water and scrub away and you'll get most of it but it may just come back eventually. May be time to replace it.

Thank you!
We've got enough expenses going out at the moment with just purchasing the house, so i think for now i'll try to give it a clean and see how it goes! Maybe i can find some caps to go on top to at least hide it a bit.

You may find that both caps are leaking slightly where they screw into the towel rail, and that is what has caused the corrosion.
These caps are typically sealed with rubber O-rings and these have probably perished. It will be worth removing the caps and replacing the O-rings. To do this, you'll first need to turn off both valves at the bottom of the towel rail, and release a little water by undoing one of the joints between valve and towel rail. Then you can remove the caps without any spillage of water.
While the caps are off, I would paint the rusted part of the towel rail with a silver metal paint.
