GS heat pump control sys

COP 5-1??? Can you confirm that figures is a fact - I doubt it very much.

E10 will give you some daytime hours, but it's far from the cheapest tariff.

Given the long pay-back on any HP, on any well insulated house, most people would be cheaper using any of the other heating sources.

These are what we used to install before I retired gracefully.

I understand Mitsubishi have an impressive model or two on the market or in the pipeline.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is thinking to pay back times, payback depends on too many unknowns not least the cost of fuel, and maybe in a few years time, if there's other fuels.

Solar, Heat pumps you name it adds value to the property, if you expect to get your money back in 10 years forget it, or sell up and move.

Mitsi and Sanyo i believe are trying to get in on the market.

Danfos and Nebe are what we're being asked to look into, Their COP are 4-1 and thats at a push. Your earlier figures of 65deg seem higher than everyone elses spec also without using Aux heat.

Mitsu and Daikin are the big daddies in heatpumps.

Most other manufacturers have their parts inside; the best units have inverter driven variable rate compressors, this gives a better potential CoP than fixed rate....

I think you should always have at least a back heat source.

We used Ethylene Glycol as an antifreeze in the collector loops, more expensive than most, and you got a 90% heat transfer.

I believe you lost some efficiency over 50c, but like others I was still learning when I retired.

know anything about Mitsubishi Simond, they were supposed to have something in the pipeline that was revolutionary.

I only have experience of the Ecodan airsource domestic system. This uses the variable rate compressor, so gives very good results where a fixed rate compressor struggles.

All the manufacturers are now beavering away on variable rate units to deliver better CoPs and have less reliance on buffer stores to even out the running periods.

Daikin have just launched a new unit airsource for the British market, (Altherma) going for a look next week.
