View attachment 225149 After lowering the top of this downpipe in red on fascia the downpipe part (in purple) leaks water on joins and the water runs down the outside of it. I wrapped that plumbers tape around it but didnt seem to work when I tested it straight after. The tape looks ridiculous too.
Any ideas how to stop this?

the offset bend is upside down..
Thxs lol. I did turn it round that way because it was leaking the same when the other way. Should gutter name etc go on bottom ? Would new downpipe and offset bend sort issue?

Is it to do with shape of guttering and they'd be less leaks if round?

Yes, as suggested that bend is the wrong way around.
As it was leaking fitted the correct way, buy a new one and refit using some exterior gutter sealant.
Of course the correct way around.

Can't see why it would leak if elbows are correct way around unless it's backing up.

Get new one I guess.
Is the pipe blocked further down ?
No. I might try correct way again see if that that works. The gutter which downpipe slots into (on fascia) was lowered by 10mm. Another possibility is there is a crack on top of downpipe which slots into bottom of offset bend. Also maybe when it was correct way round the top wasn't in properly. No idea.

Out of interest, how do u know which is the correct way round , is writing at bottom?

Right that makes sense. So switch just this little part of guttering (circled) around other way? I didn't switch that round before. That was always like that
