Water spraying out of downpipes onto brick walls

Its really simple you just need to slip on a short section of downpipe - as per my white lines. Do it at that still frame position taken from the vid as it also looks like the swan neck and downpipe could be a little short. Don't cut the short piece of downpipe too long otherwise you will make a high spot at the running outlet. You may be able to do it all in situ with a bit of swearing.

Wouldn't the diameter of the small section be the same as the outlet on the running gully? If so, whilst it would fit in the elbow. it won't attach to the outlet.

Personally, would just use a small screw to secure the fitting.

That is how the OP's set up is. Watch the video again. Granted, when I first watched it, I too thought the same as you.

I have watched it several times, and I see the same thing each time, it looks as if the installer has somehow managed to put a male to male 45 in there.

I have never seen a running gully that does not have a male part which is not set to the internal diameter of a downpipe.

With respect, I think you are incorrect. Sorry mate.

When watching the video, focus on the spine/rib on the male part. Have you ever seen that on a regular downpipe before?

Te top of the 45 elbow is designed to take a downpipe inside it and the end of the running outlet is designed to fit inside a downpipe. That is why it is loose and all the OP has to do to fix it is add a short section of downpipe - as per my photo/ screenshot

Possibly, but I am also seeing what looks like the lip of the make end, in the view look down in the gulley too.

Yeah, I can see that too, but if a fitting goes from the external diameter to the male internal, I would not be surprised to be able to see the transition from above.

Again, I have never seen a running gully that will accept a full width downpipe.

No.

The running outlet spigot is male and is designed to fit INSIDE a DP. The offset bend female is designed to accept a DP.

Ahh, so all the OP needs to do is cut a tiny bit of downpipe to sit in the running outlet.
