I have 2 hampsters in a cage but now they have started to eat and nibble everything in the cage, they had a plastic wheel they could run in but thats gone now, whats the problem with the critters.

They are probably bored, and also there teeth grow really fast, which is uncomfortable for them, so it sounds like they are trying to grind them down. You can buy something like a big block of hard salt that you attach to there cages which they will use to gnaw on. You can buy them from all pet stores.

would it help to give them some timber offcuts to gnaw on as well?
