Handbrake & Mot

Wife has just bought a 23 plate car , the handbrake doesn't hold on our drive, am I correct in thinking that for the mot they should hold aster 3 clicks ?

I don’t think the number of clicks matter, but the testers will know better.
This is a strange issue for a 23 plate though - unless all is well if you pull the lever up further?

Clicks doesn't matter. Subject to being some reserve travel.

Efficiency does matter. What car?

Clio, I expect its been stood in dealers yard for a while and auto adjusters maybe siezed, it doesn't hold on drive untill yanked up fully, so its going in under waranty for that and a few other silly faults, I advised her not to buy it but she liked the colour ! And thank f##k its not an electric handbrake !

I'd usually expect around 5 -8 clicks on Clio.

But if it's warranty they will sort it
