Don't you people ever read properly? On one side of the house the gap is 1m so 1 x 1m gate. On the other side the gap is about 2m so 2 x 1m gates. The OP already said 1m gate and that gap is way over 1m, in my estimation.
I didn't quite understand most of the query. I'd hang the gates wherever the client wants them; their house, their aesthetic. In this particular case I'd consider a post that wraps the corner to align with the concrete post you say you're fixing to on the other side (good luck!) and also mean you can mount the gate so it's on the line between block and gravel.. seeing a few inches of gravel on the block side of the gate would look a bit gash IMO
Do you remember the previous thread about fitting a narrow gate between a garage and a conservatory? I mentioned a point (that ultimately I think was passed over) about not significantly narrowing the gap the gate fitted in by fitting a large post onto which the gate is hung. If you have a space 30 inches wide, fitting a 3 inch post that then hangs a gate using a hook-on-plate style hinge you might find that 5 inches of the usable gap disappear, taken up by the gate post and hardware. In narrow gaps, strive to fit posts on a location that isn't in the gap, and fit the gate to the post using hinges that means no part of the gate hangs in the gap either
I had some hook and band hinges but they wouldn't fit on front because gates were too wide to accommodate them and worried wall plate wasn't thick enough to accommodate them on the sides. Can you put them on the sides of post and wall plates in place of where I put t hinges anyhow?Hook and band hinges are very much better.
You can get cranked ones if you want. They move the gate forward relative to the hinge pin.
You can paint them (before fitting) to look better and for longer life.
They also look much better (tee hinges are very poor)
I greatly prefer three greased stainless washers on the hinge pin before adding the hinge, to prevent squeaking and wear
Why?That drop bolt is fitted incorrectly.

5 To 10 mm gap I thinkI bet the double will jam up too in the first winter.
The bolt should be lined up with the receiver [hope that's the term] above it so it's guided by it [and stops it from being pulled out completely] rather than just coincidentally next to it. It's probably not a massive deal. Why?
