Modern 15k drives use a 2½" discs in a 3½" case (less heat). I'm talking about standard 7200 EIDE drives.

As interesting all this stuff is to those that know, all the OP wants to do is fit a legacy EIDE drive to his box & load XP. It’s all good stuff but you’re just confusing the issue & almost certainly the OP!
