I feel it has, by being played on the same day as Premier League games.

For years the FA Cup has always been the final game of the domestic season, but to play it on the same day as PL games must detract from it.

Not really; it was the only option with the Champions League final being played at Wembley (though why is that on a Saturday this year?)

What really irritates me is the fact that Stoke & City had 25k seats each and the attendance was nearly 89k. Instead of offering them to anyone & everyone, hows about letting the fans who attend the games week in, week out have some more tickets?

I was born on FA Cup final day.

There was another option.

Instead of playing PL games yesterday, they could have been played mid week at some point between the start and end of the season. This would have freed up yesterday to be CUP FINAL DAY only.

They are now talking of having the future Cup Final kick off time delayed until early evening. something else I disagree with.

The FA Cup has been devalued for the last 10 years!

The smaller clubs value it as its the only big trophy they have a realistic chance of winning, bigger clubs are just not interested in it anymore. They field weakened teams, if they get far then they might consider trying to win it.....otherwise they dont bother.

Its a shame really because its the oldest cup competition in the world.

Traditionally the FA Cup was the final football match of the season. I used to look forward to FA Cup final day, knowing that it was the only football on that day. Now, the Premiership still haven't played their last match. We still have the play offs to come.
What ever happened?

Yes.....it certainly has....it is not aimed at supporters anymore and the fa committee are distant from grass roots...and when you look at the ticket allocation...say man utd with about 50000-60000 season ticket holders are only allocated 18000 .......I was delighted a couple of years ago when man u pulled out of it and the fa went mad ...I would love the teams concentrating on champios league to not take part in it

They could have played cup final on Saturday and had the league games on the Sunday, there will have been some football supporters who had gone to watch their team play yesterday, that would not have been able to watch the cup final.
The FA Cup was devalued when ManU were allowed to pyss off on some foreign holiday.

That was another reasonable option PBoD to keep Saturday for Cup Final Day - It just goes to show that the FA don't have much intelligence.

As for the season ManU didn't participate, they were expecting to win the World Club Cup - but didn't - served them right!!!!!

I think the FA should have had the PL games played yesterday not Saturday

As someone who was at wembley and mixed with both sets off fans before and after the game, enjoying a shandy (a two) I don't think it has been devalued for those attending the game

The trouble is that not all fans can get a ticket to the game. The majority have to watch it on tv, which diluted the significance of the game due to the focus that was given to PL games also taking place.
