As for the season ManU didn't participate, they were expecting to win the World Club Cup - but didn't - served them right!!!!!

2008 Wayne Rooney clinched victory for Manchester United in the Club World Cup final with a late goal against Liga de Quito after Nemanja Vidic was sent off.

we won it anyways laterz innit

Actually it was the year 2000

How we laughed :)

Its always nice when an LFC fan can tell a United fan something they dont know about their own team. Innit!

I wish fans of the big 4 + Tottenham & Liverpool were banned from commenting on this board. There's you claiming LFC will win this that & the other next year, spacecat waffling (not very coherently) about how MUFC are better than everyone else; obmcfc claiming years of 'hard work' by MCFC means they deserve to win things now, and how the passion of MCFC players is on a par with those from LFC & MUFC. I dread the day we get resident Arsenal, Tottenham & Chelsea fans.

LooPrEvil; if you bothered reading his post properly he says MUFC won it in 2008: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_FIFA_Club_World_Championship

Is that possibly because you forgot about the 2000 debacle?

But football is only about opinions, which unfortunately generally are biased by our blinkered views, and strong loyalties.

Fair enough. I missed the bit you typed about winning it later.

you think that we didn't deserve to win the FA Cup or finish in top 4 after the hard work the players put in this season

Do you really think Liverpool or Utd players are more passionate than say Micah Richards, Joe Hart, De Jong, Kompany, Zabaletta etc

I welcome fans of all teams onto the board and the lively debate it encourages

You comment on all the football threads and yet won't say who you support/follow so I will ask again for the 3rd time who is 'your' team

With the amount of money City spent last summer, I'd say the FA Cup and 4th in the league (potentially 3rd) is a terrible return. I read a headline the other day that described Mancini as saying City could compete with the best in the Champions League; if that's the case, why did they fail so badly in the Europe league?

Your idea of passion is showing joy when scoring; have a look in your post history. City fell apart against Everton after conceding; whereas players at the likes of United and Liverpool would show their passion by grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck, City players wiltered and disappeared. On Saturday when Stoke were having a good spell, City players started breaking the play up by consistenty committing fouls; Yaya Toure ran his studs down a player's calf (I forget who it was) in frustration. These aren't the hallmarks of passionate players.

But as with other fans of the big 4 on this site, I'm wrong and City are equal if not better than other clubs in each & every way.

As I've said before, I support my hometown club who sit in the Blue Square premier league; I joined this forum on the basis of anonymity and don't wish to give away that information, hence my location being blank.

I believe City's aim at start of the year was top 4 (done) cup win (done) - anything else (maybe 3rd) is a bonus - I am under no illusions about coming close to winning Champs league next year or even PL, I will be happy with pushing on in League and maybe challenging top 2 but not sure we will win it - unlike what Roberto has been 'quoted' in the press (don't always believe what you read)

I am not talking about just joy after scoring - if you watch City games (as I do every week) - then you will see the passion and commitment the players I mentioned give, no matter what the score is during the game

when was last time Liverpool players grabbed game by scruff of the neck

lol I do not think we are equal or better than other clubs, if that was the case we would have won the league as that's usually the best team over the season

when was last time Liverpool players grabbed game by scruff of the neck

Probably when they played city the other week and done them 3 nil, and took it easy on them in the second half.

Pretty much every game they play. The ones most noticable to non liverpool fans would be:

2005 CL Final, probably the best CL final ever witnessed
2005 FA Cup Final, probably one of the best FA Cup finals to date
2001 UEFA Cup Final, arguably the best UEFA cup final ever played

I agree in these games I meant in games played recently with recent team like past 2/3 seasons

Oh, are we not counting this one then?
