Why am I plagued by cars with only one headlight? Someone should remind the police that it is an offence!

And motorbike with high main beam to blind you in the opposite direction day & night.

If you can find a policeman that is, I think they are all being replaced with speed cameras; but they don't seem to be bothered with any other offences or standards of driving.

So you can drive around in your car with no mot and insurance, talk on the phone and only have one light working and as long as you're not speeding you'll probably never get found out

I had a bulb go at the start of a 100 mile drive last week, I felt like a right to**er driving with one headlight... replaced it the next day, and the day after that, the other one went

Good thing I didn't decide to drive around for a few weeks like that or I would have had no headlights whatsoever! I bet they would definitely pull you for that... I hope!

Just as well you have those blue LED washer jets then Adam! :p

Just a shame you can't see them in the glare of my foglights + neons + fake Burberry baseball cap at a somewhat skewiff kinda angle. :p

Slightly irrelevant, but I have noticed HGVs with blue led accessories on the front. I would have thought that people who spend £100K+ for their work vehicle, plus rely on having it for their livelihood, would be a bit more savvy with the law... OK, no-one is going to mistake a 44-tonner for a policecar, but it's the principle surely

Yeah, blue stuff is def illegal, but as nstreet (?) said, there are no real coppers anymore. Angry? I'm livid! No longer can I go up to a copper and make jokes about his large truncheon and shiny helmet......!!!!

Jasy. So right, mate. Whenever I see a copper driving badly w/o blues & twos, I follow him. Then if he stops me for being an a***, I just tell him I was only following his example, and as a member of HM's police force he should set a good example to Joe Public, because if PC Plod can't drive properly, what chance have we?

One day, I shall endure a painful surgical procedure sans anasthesia courtesy of a blunt tool wielded by a PC, but until that day I shall continue my quest!!

Or end up in Scotland having followed someone in 'fancy dress' ... Then you attain the distinction of being a 'nutter' -- best left alone !!

Lights ? Halfords 'shed' did / do a great little set of model orientated spare bulbs in a plastic holder ... Just right !! A safe place to put the spare stock... But then, not really needed with the Nissan ... why is this so ? Been my experience over 17 yrs now, hardly any bulbs blown, I have lost just a single main beam in 60+K miles and near 6 yrs on current car !! ( at least 40% of time spent 'dark' driving )

Of course the best headlights are 36 DD (or there abouts), never fail to light up the scene and raise one's moral !!

You should check more carefully before you buy them then. ;)

Ever since this post I've taken more note of the vehicles on the road without both headlights functioning correctly and today I reached a new record. Seven, on a ten minute journey! Including the usuall pillock who thinks he doesn't need any at all when its dark.

If only the police got wise to this, they wouldn't have to keep putting up speed cameras to generate revenue. They could even come up with a new slogan, 'Driving in the dark with no lights can put you in the dark, permanently'
