Health and Safety

Just noticed something interesting, MMJ's and Jasy's signatures read out together makes:

Ahhhhh...I see the f**k up fairy has visited again. Well done George W

Is this coincidence?

Thermo, if that post was all your own work you deserve loads of "congratulations", so surely, that's not your only effort as that approach would suit almost any situation now.
I have reread the post several times and laughed out loud each time.
Let's test you out, give us your up to date version of the Moon Landing.
Well done.

what moon landing it never happened! I have to admit i was given it by someone else, mind you i never claimed it was all my own work! But i will see what i can come up with for the challenge. Any particular slant on it?

Apart from a particularly long blue touch paper for the rocket, it's all yours.

Office binning u.s. Fluorescent tubes ?

http://www.letsrecycle.com/news/news.jsp?story=3285[/QUOTE]
Lots of Crusher/washers have been installed for the purpose of disposal of flourescent tubes but the latest trend seems to go for a contract of disposal by a specialist firm, the only problem with that is businesses have to store the U/S tubes until there are enough of them to make it economically viable for them to be picked up.

So why are they considered a hazzard? Is it the glass or the argon (or whatever inert gas it is???

I would suggest taking a box of them down to the local Star Wars convention.... :D Cue , woooomph, woooomph and heavy breathing noises!

It's the mercury and other hazardous chemicals inside that if you have a lot of crushed tubes can accumulate levels that are above recommended safe levels that can wash down into ordinary landfill sites and contaminate the water table. As to whether these specialist firms do in fact dispose of the waste at special sites or just fly tip somewhere is a bone of contention but at least the businesses have done their bit in safe disposal.

Amazing how efficient the signalling system of the Navy using flags.......
it seems that the Daily Mail have received and understood, and what appears on page22 today will remind us all of where we saw it first.

Better stop using the old rowing boat method then ;)
Seriously, someone mentioned fly tipping ... what is that called when at sea ? Fish tipping ? ... I bet there are some strokes being pulled in the disposal arena - given the size of the ocean !! :(
