Hi all, just wanted a second opinion on this before I go buy an asbestos testing kit. My property has the remnants of an old gas air vent heating system. All that’s left are the metal ducting around the house. I’ve taken most out already except this section which is right next to where the boiler thing used to be. It’s the only ducting that has been wrapped in plastic and insulation. To me the insulation looks like fibreglass with just plastic wrapping around. However when I took my Stanley to it, it all of a sudden got very flakey. As you can see from the picture, it looks a bit odd but I can’t tell if it just looks like melted fibreglass insulation or if it’s fibres material (asbestos) it’s a 1970s property and the old flue for this thing was asbestos, so I want to remain cautious here!
