Hi
We are spending our first winter at a new home with a sealed system boiler (Potterton Puma) and underfloor heating and during this cold spell it's proving costly to get only lukewarm water!
Got a couple of specific questions but any thoughts on the below would also be welcomed:
- When we run the kitchen hot water tap (located one floor above the storage and boiler) it runs hot water for 10 secs and then goes warm to cold. If we stop the tap and then turn it back on the same thing happens. However if we keep the tap on the water never turns hot again
- In order to get hot water for the showers we run the immersion heater which is hurting a lot in terms of bills. But without it on there isn't enough hot water to run a shower (although there is hot water in the taps)
- With underfloor heating is it best to keep a constant temperature throughout the day or use the timing settings to control when it is on and off. We have tried both and neither seem to help that much - although it is hotter and nicer with them on constantly of course!
- We sleep in the same room as the Potterton boiler and it is constantly firing throughout the night - is that normal?
Sorry - huge amount of questions but any help would be greatly appreciated
Richard
