The heating is driving me mad.
The boiler is an Apollo
The original problem was it blew a fuse and would not light, I was away at the time so parents got in gas man and he changed the gas valve, hi / lo thermos and possibly the pump overun thermo and then spent hours going up and down the stairs trying to get it to work, it seemed that everytime the boiler fired up it would go for a few seconds make strange noise and go out, everytime it fired up it did the same thing.
Parents said he then went into electrical connections in upstairs cupboard and did ? then said it would be OK, this had the result that the pump runs continually and switching between heating and water made no difference.
I thought possibly the 3 way motorised valve which was the original from 1984, so changed that and it still it makes no difference the heating (pump) is constantly on, changed room thermo for a digistat3 and still it makes it no difference.
Any ideas? or anything I should try and eliminate, or anyone know a good heating engineer in Warrington. (Cheshire)
