Hi has anyone got experience of using dryfix helical wall ties please?

I have been trying to get 9mm ones in a 7mm hole but struggling.

I was supplied them over size and told to cut them to fit.
I cut them with bolt cutters and tried to drive them into the wall with the cut end as advised by the supplier.

Does anyone have any experience of using these please?

Maybe I would be better off using the neoprene ones, just not sure how long rubber will last.

Thanks for your reply Woody, they are fairly square I think, maybe I should try filing them to more of a point.
Have you used them?

I think the idea is to drill a bigger hole and set them in with resin ?
If anyone has found a successful way of getting resin through a tiny hole and across a cavity into another tiny hole - I want to know about it. ;)

It doesn't need to be a tiny hole and the nozzles supplied are usually around 10 inches long giving plenty of length to reach an inner skin.

Thanks, I am wondering how soon the resin sets in the nozzle?

Would you do say 10 at once?

You will be able to use a full cartridge without it setting inside as long as you have prepped enough holes. Make sure you blow or vac out the holes using a straw or similar to get rid of the dust in both skins first. Once you have done the 1st cartridge you will know how many rods you can do at a time. Also squeeze the first mix through until the colour has blended through the nozzle, you can tell the difference as it mixes.

Presumably you are using the setting tool and the drill on hammer only?

It can be done. Take your time. Good prep first. Make hole larger.

Dont listen to mr bonkers above!
