I'm not saying it can't be done. Just sounds like an irreversible faff, is all. I'm making a point that not all cavities are the same. Once a larger hole is drilled, it becomes an issue.

I have done this numerous times without issue and if you read my post i said "Make sure you blow or vac out the holes using a straw or similar to get rid of the dust in both skins first." As for cavity insulation, if it is cavity batts then the drill will have created a hole which the nozzle will use and if loose fill then it will not obstruct anything pushing through it. Not sure why you have a problem with the process as it is really very simple to do.
