Help! - advice on how to repair a chip to kitchen panel.

As part of our new extension, had new kitchen installed which has an island. Discovered what appears to be a chip where someone has clearly knocked something hard against the edge. I am not sure of the exact materials of the island - but seems to be wood underneath - I have attached some pics. Anyone have any good ideas on how to repair this please. Feeling very frustrated as kitchen not even been used yet...

Any chance of asking the "installer" to explain how the damage occurred? he may be the culprit?

if so he repairs it, on any job I have been on a site with this type of installation then the highly visual areas are well protected until hand over?

ill be surprised if any repair will be totally invisable,plus YOU will always know its there.
