HELP - Boiler Powerflushed NOW boiler wont work

I think he has pushed some sludge into the pump while powerflushing. As this is where he should of been powerflushing from - not from 2 15mm pipes  If you unscrew the cap on the pump and help it start moving with a flat screwdriver it should get it working.

To me this is amazing!

You pay him £350 to power flush the system and he leaves it not working and you apparently pay him.

The whole point of an engineer is to solve problems!

You need to tell us exactly what each light is showing.

A red on constantly usually indicated a lack of ignition.

That guy clearly has no boiler repair skills!

Hi Tony

Basically before the powerflush, my heating was working perfectly but hot water was lukewarm. Called in AXA and they advised heat exchanger is blocked and will have to be replaced and in order to replace, I will have to power flush the system.

Sytem got power flushed on Tuesday, but since they I have the following issues.

The boiler has two red solid lights, and when request for heating or hot water is made, the boiler makes alot of noise and heating/water lasts for only five minutes and then the boiler cuts off. In order to restart, you have to press the reset button manually in order to get it working for another five minutes.

Anyway enginner came out again on Friday and said it isnt his fault, as you cant do a power flush "wrong" and that once the insurance company replace the heat exchanger on the coming Tuesday, everything should work perfectly.

So the situation I currently at am is whether you believe that the existing and new problems since the powerflush, will be solved once the new heat exchanger is fitted?

I think adding X800 to the system for a week or so might help .

Flushing the boiler out seperatley would be an idea as well .

It sounds like the sludge hasnt been broken down well enough to me.

Wont the new heat exchanger help at all??

Yeah , but with a propper powerflush it may not of needed one.

If your insurance is covering it then its not a worry to you.

Some dont cover where there is sludge involved

Do you believe the power flush may have been done wrong, as I didnt have a issue with heating before and now I do?

Thanks for the help mate:)

The only red one is in the centre but you said you had two!

Hi Tony

Heat exchanger has been replaced and water is working perfectly.

However when heating is turned on it turns itself off after 20minutes and then on again and so on.

Also heating turns itself on by itself whenever it feels like.

Also all day and all night the solid red light in the middle remains as well as the light on the right, remains a faint flasing red.

Have been advised could be a issue with PCB.

What do you think?
