help!m.o.t fail on emissions

hi,i have A VECTRA V6 2.5,just failed m.o.t on emmisons,checkd leads and one as no spark coming from distribributor,any ideas why????

Duff plug lead or faulty segment in dizzy cap. Try a new set of leads and a new cap.

Have had exactly the same problem with daughters 2.5 V6 Vectra,
replace the coil pack and all was back to normal.
Coil pack 100%!
It's a bit of a job to do it yourself but it can be done, new coil pack quite expensive, secondhand one? well you take a chance.

No 'Dizzy' caps on Vectra, they use a coil pack, electronically fired by the ECU, indivdual coils within the coil pack are known to fail, either completely or intermittantely, leading to a misfire.

Thanks for the replies don't know much about cars, if i follow the leads from the plugs is the coil pack where the leads terminate (what would of used to have been the distributer)?
