My bath filler is temporarily fitted and tiling begins tomorrow. It just occurred to me that the bloody spout is way too long (about 9" reach) and reaches to about 2 inches from the centre of the tub. That means I'll be constantly trying to avoid knocking it when showering. The spout unscrews so I'm searching for a replacement spout to fit to this same filler. I went to a plumbers shop today and they have a screw on chrome spout much the same and it was 6" or just over, £20, and £2.99 for an airator to go on the end. But that size is still not ideal. Where can I get a screw on spout maximum 4" long, does it exist? It needs to be in line with the lever tap, no further out, or at least not by much, and the tap depth is 3.26".
Here's my filler in the new bath.

It would work fine if it's at the front end of the bath (I measured and only about 2 inches of spout would be over the front) below where the thermostatic shower unit is to be fixed. Obviously the pipes would need to be moved from the side and fed through the front, and another cutout in the tile backing board. But my builder says he'd have to remove the bath to change it since it's quite difficult otherwise. That would presumably involve more expense but how much I don't know yet.
I really want to keep it to the side of the tub if I can, it looks better, but I can't find another wall mounted filler with shorter spouts, with the possible exception of this one, if anyone knows if the spout is under 5 inches reach?
