You can change the time and temp for the presets depending on your needs.
I did buddy I must be a little bit stupid as I say. I worked out how to basically put it in manually mode.

What I can't work out is how to set the temp for it to turn on at and turn off.

I got it working last night so I belive I might of cracked the Off temp but can't work out the turn on temp.

My bungalow is around 16.5 C with out the heating on at the moment. So I'd like to set it so if it goes below that it will turn on and switch of around 18c

Aha! I can see why you are stumped :)

Thermostats don't work like that. Or not that I am aware of as a DIYer and thermostat bore.
You set a temp and the boiler will fire when the room the stat is in falls below the set temp.

With your new stat you can set different temps throughout the day.
It is the same as you manually turning a dial type stat up and down at various times during the day.
Set to suit your pattern bearing in mind a room will take a while to heat. i.e. If you get up at 7am, set it to the temp you want at 6am

I'm rapidly becoming another thermostat bore. I think if you set it to 17C then you may get close to what you want. When the temperature falls a bit below 17C, the boiler should turn on. And then when it gets a bit above 17C it should turn off. There is always a bit of lag either side of the set temperature, so with any luck it will come on about 16.5C and turn off about 18C. On some thermostats you can control how much lag there is, but yours seems not to have that capacity.

Many thermostats these days can be a bit confusing though, because they often use an algorithm called TPI to control the temperature more accurately. So, instead of doing one long burn and turning off, they sometimes do a series of short burns, spaced a few minutes apart. And if you don't know why they are doing that, it can seem odd. Because the boiler might turn off before it reaches the temperature you have set, and it might come back on again before it falls back below that set temperature. I don't know for certain if yours is TPI, but most digital ones are these days.

I have bought myself a second more up todate. Thermostat wireless again but colour screen and smart so can run it. With Alexa and Google also has lots of features. But has a override with a adjustable knob so can set the temp and basically turn boiler on and off at will I belive
