Help no hot water!

We don't have accidental cover through home insurance
We did have it through the bank but I didn't realise and they won't cover now as it's been interfered with by a third party
It's a company called first action they have a london number

Do you see the brass fitting on the vertical pipe without an handle. Can you get some pliers and with the pump running turn it fully clockwise?

Sorry just seen this.. he is here now and saying it won't be air because there's water coming from tap it's just not hot
He's also saying the radiators won't be anything to do with it cos the heating is different to them so if I need them balanced it will be extra
They were working fine last week!!

Sorry but the water coming from tap is from the domestic hw system the reason it's not warm is because water is not circulating around the internal cylinder coil and the radiators. The system worked ok before then I doubt balancing will be required. The air will be in the primary system.

So basically the hot water is currently working no idea what he did
He wouldn't balance radiators for me he said this would be because they haven't been used all summer
They were cos kids were cold the other night as they wasn't well so I stuck them on for a bit
anyway I've got it right up to 30 degrees and this is the current radiator situation they've been in for an hour so clearly not working as it's a fairly hot day today and I've got heating on 30 with Windows and doors shut and were not hot
So will attempt to Ballance/bleed them ourselves at the weekend!
Wish me luck we haven't got a clue where to start

Nope he was basically saying they were nothing to do with the hot water
But we seem to have hot water... for now. I have no idea what he did
He didn't bleed any radiators
He didn't go in the loft at all over any of the days he was here
I don't have a vent key I don't think can I pick one up from hardwear store?

You can get a bleed key from screwfix for a couple of quid

I'm very disappointed that he didn't bleed your rads for you. What an arse.

The white handle is the valve you can turn to shut off the radiator. So ideally shut each valve with the radiators that are working fine.Vent each radiator one by one. close the brass valve near the cylinder that has no handle. ( but when finished this valve will require adjusting back to where it was so make note. The radiators that are completely cold check the valve is open then shut the rest of the rads. That will expel any air in the drop, once it's circulating you may need to bleed the radiator go round each one and carry out the same process. After it's warm close of the valve again and go to the next one. Hope that makes sense

sounds to me like you just need to vent all the radiators that are not getting hot at the top ,as they are full of air. if all radiators were working fine before you called out the emergency plumber ,they will not need balancing ,unless someone has been meddling with the lockshield valves on some of the radiators. shame on him for not bleeding them for you.

Although we only ever hear one side of a
story, it seems your have been badly let down (and very possibly lied to).
As per Terry, venting is straightforward.
Buy a BRASS radiator key. The lead coloured ones break if a stubborn nipple is encountered. Turn heating OFF. Start downstairs. Open nipple and there should be water or a hiss. As soon as water appears, close vent. Use a cloth to catch drips. You may need a pair of pliers to help turn if stiff, but normally not. Then repeat upstairs.
Your "plumber" was totally wrong with regard to the hot water. I would try the bleeding route, and if successful raise a complaint with his company, unless he is a sole trader.
