Help! Overflow dripping - ballcock/valve not the problem

Thought I'd best post to break up the fight!!!

Cheers for all your help chaps - it would appear my shower unit could be the problem and I shall investigate forthwith.

I'll let you know the outcome but I suspect you've hit the nail on the head (or the ball on the ...erm...cock)...

Thanks!

Water pouring out of Header Tank in Loft. Which one
Im too old to get up there. central heating fine.
Rang service centre WM gas and they came out pretty
Quickly.
Nothing wrong with their bits but the water sound could still be
heard. He quickly identified the shower mixer valve as the culprit
and duly closed the cold supply off to the mixer valve via the header
tank. this stopped the problem but left me with no shower in the
bath room. His next punch line remember I pay a monthly service contract
that taps and showers are not covered. Clearly using the cold high pressure
supply again was a problem. Without this route the valve wont kick in.
He left and I got the Plumber in this is costing cash now. He was dumbfounded by what I had been told its the only supply route to the
cold water valve. Any way after a debate we both came up with an
Elecric shower. It took a day to route cables and fit the parts they need their own supply fuse box etc.
Some £750 later my showers working and the Vlaves in the Bin
