Hi I have moved house the previous owner has randomly removed and replaced a smoke alarm with one that is incompatible and not even connected to the alarm and left the cables loose in the ceiling cavity.
This has obviously left my alarm with a tamper alert as the wires are not connected.
I was thinking the best option would be linked battery operated smoke detectors but I need to rewire the tamper so the house alarm thinks the smoke detector is still present when it is not.
The alarm company are holding me ransom for £400/hour call out as there's a fault on the alarm! Which was not even my fault.
I have attached a picture of a working smoke alarm. Appears to be a normally closed circuit. Is there a way I can connect or short the wires to remove the tamper fault without the alarm being present?
Thanks
