Help with fitting a new extractor hood motor

I am struggling to find out about my hood. It is working but I want to fit a faster motor its a Fox group type f88 01 the lable is worn but think it says Campodarsego PD-I- Cod. F88. W .912.300. But other than that its hard to read. The fan had two charcole filters on the side that I did not use as it is extracting to outside.

Can I fit any motor so long as it will fit and i can fix it.

There would seem to be a choice of a single, or twin motor, with the twin version wired in parallel. Connection are neutral, plus a choice of three live inputs numbered 1, 2 and 3 - Only one of which should be connected to live, at one time.

I am not sure what that means could it be that all this time I have had it - 10 years it has only been working on 1 motor and its crap suction is just down to that.

Since posting I have found someone else's pictures on the web,in Italy and in the first picture it shows it slightly from the side and the motor looks just the same as that on the other side

Yes! Most do seem to be 3 speed.

I see my fan does work on 3 speeds but we do a lot of foodie cooking and just feel like it needs more oomph but I have no idea of its m2 extraction rate to compare and get a better one.
So as long as it physically fits and I can line up some holes or drill my own to get it to fit then any 3 speed motor should work ?
Its also quite noisy but the thing is the hood and filters are very good quality and I do not want to have to swap it for a thin flimsy new one.

If you cannot find out the air extraction rates, the watts or current rating, on the plate might give a sensible comparison.

None of the online sellers seem to list the wattage, but 250w seems unlikely, maybe 50w maximum.

Could you maybe try the old and the replacement motors, plugged into a plug-in energy monitor, each of full speed?

Not really as I will need to buy a new motor to find out and then its too late.

Thanks for your help here Harry. I have come to the conclusion that part of my issues is the ducting. I think best I start a new thread for that I think

I would think that's the Total Wattage. The bulb rating is "2x40W MAX", so the motor Wattage is presumably 250W-2 x 40W = 170W.

Thats a great help Alec. So if I am looking for a new motor I am looking for one higher than 170W - or would that be classed as powerful already.
