I think we should all ignore him, utterly.

Let it appear to him when he looks at this forum as if nobody has read a single word he has written.

If you see that a topic has been started by him, don't bother to look at it.

Make his presence here completely pointless.

I agree that we should probably ignore.....

Posts that are completely f***ing stupid

Posts that involve debating logic that would shame an eight year old

Posts that continue to involve debating logic that would shame an eight year old even after a grown-up has explained the subject properly

Posts that involve reiterating the same old tired points hundred of times

Posts that deliberately hijack grown-up discussions to try to turn them into the same old arguments

Deliberate abuse aimed at turning a thread into a slanging match and getting it locked.

Any post that throws down a challenge and then pre-empts your response (in brackets)

Any post that cites 'hearing about it' as definitive proof of any subject

And I will admit that that doesn't leave the poor old lad much, but a blanket ignoring just seems a bit unfair.....

That's a much better idea

This may be a slightly unpopular view, but given that many of the arguments we have with young Joseph revolve around showing a bit of understanding or compassion, and that he way he behaves may indicate that he is a bit odd, then shouldn't we be a bit kinder..........?

I agree with BAS on this.

If there were a chance of a genuine debate with the guy, fair enough, but we all know there isn't and invariably, if you don't agree with him or he can't discuss a topic rationally he reverts to his diversion tactics, which at first can be vaguely amusing, later, just a waste of space. If you want a forum jester, well I suppose the cap fits, but know him for what he is. If he changes his attitude, I'll change mine towards him, but in the meantime I'll leave it to others to get nowhere with him.

DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS

We can all ignore daft posts within a debate which IMO is better than sending someone to coventry.

As JT said, we all preach tolerance but when it comes down to it some of the members here show very little when it relates to other peoples point of view.

Civilised+peacefullness does not always= tolerance on this forum

A forum will always have a cross section of people in it, some you may agree with some you may not, some you will dislike, that is life. No one asks any one to post, it's not compulsory to post.

and ban, dont you hate seeing your tax money funding gourmet meals for the likes of huntley?
Yes, I'm sure he gets lots of those.

and how can you generalise and say that most of the people who use my shop are barbaric and twisted individuals? A lot of them are the nicest friendliest people you might meet.
Yup - nice friendly people who want to kill other people, including those who have done nothing wrong.

These are the sorts that made the remarks about letting him be. And the staff in my shop agreed, including me. How does this make us all barbaric and twisted?
They also said, according to you, "string 'im up".

crafty1289 well said son, i bet if anything happened to some relative of his he would soon change his way of thinking. On certain subjects he's in a world of his own.
Thankfully, it is you and your unreasoning hatred, your ignorance and your desire for violence that is in the minority camp.

Well said mod, ;)

So bas if you see a post and you feel like it will end in insults being directed at you don't post on it, and if you do don't moan for you have been warned.

And when, exactly, have I moaned about that? (Apart from instances of the mods deleting my posts and telling lies about what I'd written)

Bas has been on the drink again
Nah - sober as a Mod, I am.

......... at the end of the day we/me need people like that, it makes logging on here a little bit more fun. It would be a bit lets say, mundane if it wasn't for.....

That's your view, and that's fair enough, but I wouldn't agree. There are soem fun threads here, some serious ones and once in a while I would be interested in a proper discussion on some of the serious ones. I bet that some people's activities stop many other people contributing because they know how they're going to end up. I think we would get a lot more varied and interesting contributions on these if some didn't deliberately set out to wreck them every time. If I get up in the morning and see that a thread has grown by four pages overnight with a usual suspect as the last contributor, I know its not going to be that insightful.

Joe can be alright, but he needs to stop wrecking threads, as it is just getting boring....

BAS is the biggest thread killer going as he ALWAYS gets personal whereas joe doesnt

This is an unreasoned comment. You're just making stuff up now. They did say "string 'im up", but how can you use this as an arguement that they are barbaric and twisted people, when some of them have small children - like Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, the sort Huntley would have killed.

I do somewhat agree with Slogger here, Ban, you do get personal sometimes. Calling people barabaric and twisted and saying they want to KILL people is not the way to argue for / against someone wanting to do themselves in.
