Hi All, Newbie Here in midst of extension

Next up, the stud work was completed and I used some insulation to offer some soundproofing as the wall on the other side of this is the recessed shower.

The first fix electrics were completed too

This is not in the order completed, but the front bedroom was skimmed......

I had to obviously wait until it was dry before painting and was glad that it dried out in time for the plumber to connect up the radiator after I had painted the wall

Next job was to concrete the rear pad as I'm going to lay tiles instead of slabs, the reason being I'm going to be using matching tiles inside (obviously the indoor sort and then the rougher surface for outdoor use).

I wanted to get this done before the baffled doors get fitted as I didn't want to barrow stuff over the frame later incase of damage..

prepping the pad..

I mixed 3.5tonnes of ballast and 17 bags of cement to complete the pad and it was starting to get dark by the time we finished

Another job was to remove the existing garage door and cut out 150mm brickwork to the right and move it across, this is purely for convenience of a laundry and storage inside the garage....

A fire door will be fitted later with self closer as per regs and after the rear extension floor has been screeded to prevent damage to the door

With the new garage door order we had to sort out the drainage to the front and dug out for the ACO drains to run nearly the width of the house, only hindered by the position of the gas mains box

And the new combo boiler is fitted, up and running, its so quiet, but i have to say the 130 notes I paid for the Baxi wifi controller is still in debate as to whether its worth it. it is the most un-user friendly controller I have ever known!!! and the user manual is pathetic to say the least.

Here's a first for me, I thought i would give it a try and buy underfloor heating for the bathroom, its only a 3m square mat area but was perfect for what I need and with the floor, primed and marked out for fixtures/fitting i stuck it all down..

It was then resistance tested by the electrician before being covered

At the moment I have just finished tiling the bathroom floor and started on the walls now with the help of my father who tiled our bathroom previously...
Actually theres not much my father doesn't do :)

So, thanks for reading so far, further updates to follow as they happen

Update Time

I know its taking a while but I'm only in the Uk about 9 days a month and thats when I have to continue, sometimes I have other commitments too, so not all play :)

Once the levelling compound had gone off the electrician popped over to test the underfloor heating mat resistance etc.. all good so as above, I had laid most the floor tile in the bathroom but my dad decided he was bored and came over to help and we finished off cutting the last few around the pipework.

My dad then insisted he help with tiling the walls too :)

This update is a bit behind because theres about 5 tiles left to put up as i was a bit short on my estimate :ROFLMAO: and the company was shut for 2 weeks over christmas so was unable to pick them up until early January. Have them now and tiling should be complete tomorrow i hope (14/01/16)

11th December wasting day for the bifold doors having ordered them 4 weeks prior and it was good to get them in before it started to turn really cold.

After searching for a supplier for the last 12 months, countrywide and without the ridiculous estimate some were giving, I ended up with a local'ish company who supplied and fitted schuco brand bifolds

I finally decided on a 4 pane over 4.8m so reduced the shut lines and the overall cost, I'm pretty happy with them too

The door config is looking out, door on the right opens right as a single door and the other three fold out to the left

Rear extension has finally been plastered and is currently drying out

Be good to get the a mist coast on but will be at the end of January now, it'll brighten it up a bit :)

I plastered a section of the wall in the garage which will be the location of the washer and dryer now.

I need to build a stud wall up just as a partition and a table top, I might yet build a stud right across and re-use the kitchen door as a door to separate it from the garage as that is being replaced soon and it would be a shame to throw it in the skip.

Once Ive built the stud wall and plastered it I can just tile the floor where the washer and dryer will stand as I need to get those in place ASAP.
