hid lights

yes as nickso says, 2 mins just remove the 2 burners and put the 2. h4 bulbs [ in my case ] back in and push the 2 connectors back onto bulbs job done.
the hid are wired seperate 1 feed direct from battery and 2 earths,
then plug the plug from hid into origonal headlight connector. r.r.

mine dont even have a direct feed to the battery, they just connect in series to the existing loom.

does it nickso, maybe its because mine does dip and main beam ? i have another set different make and that shows feed from battery, and earth out anywhere as well
supose i could have wired into the main light harness no bother, anyway as long as they work thas the thing innit nickso. :) cheers. r.r.

sorry, totally missed the fact you are converting from H4's. i wouldnt have thought the main beam would work particularly well seeing as the HID burner needs time to warm up. my beemer has the classic quad headlamps so the main beam is just standard.

how does yours work then? the H4 has two filiments for dip and main beam doesnt it? does the HID setup have two burners?

yes nickso mine is h4 dip/main beam bulbs, and replaces the 2 outer light bulbs, [ my inside lights have h1 bulbs, 55watt tiny little things ] but i have,nt got them connected as yet.
the 2 outer lights with the h4 bulbs was a direct swap with the new hi/lo burners ,
the outer lights also have the sidelight in them.
when i start up and put dip lights on they perhaps have a slight time delay b4 reaching full power but not so you would notice, when switching to full beam when driving they seem to react straight away
but it has come to my notice when i flash my lights in daylight they dont show much light.[ flash to let someone out and they never responded. ] so i checked againts a shop window and yes they need time to warm up.
so i guess the inner lights will get wired up so i can do my flashing. :) long reply hope it answer your query.r.r.

put simply nickso, yes /
its a ford hid conversion kit twin h4 6k slim ballast .
and after fitting it just plugs into 1 of the origanal bulb connectors, and works as before once ignigtion is on . [ apart from side light bulbs ] .
i was thinking to make it more instant maybe thats why its wired direct to battery, r.r.

I agree they take a second to stabilize but mine seem to be brightest when you first turn them on. Also I think the dipped/high beam may be mechanical on my car using the same lamp.

if its standard fit from the factory then yes it will be a mechanical deflector that allows high beam.
