Ohh a quiz good :D

General Information
Hostname: websolutions4u.biz
ISP: Germany
Organization: Schlund + Partner AG
Proxy: None detected

Geo-Location Information
Country: United Kingdom
State/Region: H9
City: London
Latitude: 51.5
Longitude: -0.1167

This info easy for anyone to find.

Doing similar search on my own IP reveals pretty inaccurate location approx 25 miles radius, hardly enough to locate an individual.

But my ISP allocates a customer account ID which I believe uniquely identifies me. Now if I have been a bit of a villain and the correct authority approaches my ISP for information they will release it and I am potentially in deep ****.

I don't understand your answer.

Web Soulutions Solutions is the web site hosting company, but what is "David Cooke" the answer to?
Similarly "one and one".

Not sure what your point is Softus ?
Did you attempt to find out the web site owner?

The info is obviously simple to find. What I dont understand is why Softus asked teh question.

Your original question Tony was how to protect your IP address , not a websites IP address. I am struggling to understand what Softus was trying to demonstrate with his post.

Ebuyer. Still not sure I understand the relevance , or am i just being thick ?

You're thinking too much.

I doubt that!

No , I just missread the earlier posts in this thread

I thought the OP was trying to achieve something different , which is why I was questioning the relevance of your questions.

or am i just being thick ?

Just answered my own question

LOL

Just had to enter into the spirit of this game, is there going to be a prize for the correct answer

IP address country: United Kingdom
IP address city: Sheffield
IP address latitude: 53.3666
IP address longitude: -1.5000
ISP of this IP [?]: Ebuyer UK Limited
Organization: Ebuyer (UK) Ltd - Production Networks
Host of this IP: gi0-0.sov.ext2.vpn.core.ebuyer.com

If I understand correctly you are challenging my statement "Information about an IP address can only be traced as far as the ISP that owns it". Clearly there is more information to be had but still not enough to identify and individual without querying the ISP about the Customer Account number.

Er, no.

IP address country: United Kingdom
IP address city: Sheffield
IP address latitude: 53.3666
IP address longitude: -1.5000
ISP of this IP [?]: Ebuyer UK Limited
Organization: Ebuyer (UK) Ltd - Production Networks

That'll do. :)

If I understand correctly you are challenging my statement "Information about an IP address can only be traced as far as the ISP that owns it".
You do indeed understand, this part, correctly. However...

Clearly there is more information to be had but still not enough to identify and individual without querying the ISP about the Customer Account number.
That is not universally correct.
