My d/w suddenly stopped working properly on Christmas Day morning - what timing! It does the initial drain, fills with water but then just hums. Can anybody give me some idea of what might be wrong and what I may be able to do? [/i]

Debris in the wash pump, capacitor for wash pump motor failed or faulty wash pump motor.
