One of our fence panels has been on its way out for some time, and Bert administered the coup de grace.

The fence gets a lot of wind rock, so I'm inclined to replace with DIY vertical hit and miss.

I could spend weeks dithering about what dimension wood to use for the verticals, so would be grateful for a suggestion.

I'm also wondering whether to go with vertical or horizontal - any thoughts?

The fence is 3 panels, between our sloping drive and our neighbour's garden, which is maybe 4 feet lower than the drive where our drive is highest.

It'll effect the neighbours more than us, so I'll also talk to them about their preferences.

Thanks for your thoughts.
