Hive wiring

I have a lp241 that i want to replace with a Hive 2 and have a problem
in green (pump) mode only the HW works
in blue (gravity)mode HW and heating seems to come on but HW only seems to be working
my boiler is an old Glowworm ultimate
Is the heating not working due to the old thermostat?
as i thought i could just disconnnect the wires
any ideas ?

Ok so i have put the hive back in position after refitting the original controller and set the old thermostat to max
and now the CH works !!!

So all i need now is to remove the old thermostat and link the switching wires together ?
