Hole for Window

I have been given a quote of £850+VAT for a builder to knock a hole in an external gable wall, install 2 heads and a window sill and fit a new window which I already have.

Window is 1200mm by 700mm

Is this a fair enough quote? I though it was a bit much?

It could be but based on your information there's no way to accurately quote. The most effective way is to get 3 quotes and then you'll know what is reasonable.

If you occupy the fourth-floor flat in a large Victorian house conversion I'd say that was a good price.
