Well yes i forgot the old asbestos which will be cement based and about the same thickness as plywood but you wouldn't want to be drilling or cutting it, probably why i assumed it was plywood or pvc foam board 
Hi, sorry the dia of the soffit is 70mm.
We bought a holesaw drill bit, Bosch powerchange and we cannot work out how to actually secure it. There weren't any instructions either..
