The mower I put back together the other week has started to rev it’s head off.
I collected it this afternoon and soon noticed the spring was missing.

When I fitted this spring it was a bit loose so I cut & bent it and mower ran fine.
Obviously isnt the case now as it’s gone.
If you remember the neighbour took the engine apart for a replacement crank & removed the governor arm also.
So I’ve ordered a new spring which will arrive in the next few days.
My question is was the spring stretched but neighbour said he’s been using the mower for years without issues OR did I not put the governor arm in the correct position thus this is why the spring was a bit slack ?
